J. Suzette Hansrote was born and raised in Clarksville, Tennessee. She attended Clarksville High School and later attended Austin Peay State University. She was graduated from Austin Peay in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree, with a goal of obtaining a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree.

Mrs. Hansrote was graduated from the University of Memphis, School of Law in 1991. She returned to Clarksville and began her practice of law in 1992. Since that time she has handled thousands of cases in a variety of legal fields. At this time, Mrs. Hansrote accepts cases in the areas of Bankruptcy, Family Law, Divorce, Adoption and Family Law Mediation.

In 1999, Mrs. Hansrote was trained as a Family Law Mediator. This is a specialized field of negotiation in Family Law matters. She is now a Tennessee State Supreme Court Listed and Approved Mediator. Mediation is now required in many cases. This skill has sharpened Mrs. Hansrote's abilities in settlements and in litigation.
